Managing Partner of Comm Unity
Torsten Sewing has worked as a journalist, project manager, marketing communications director, analyst relations executive, and CSR-consultant in both Germany and the UK. In London, he has been involved with CSR since 2001, working with and for consultancies and charity brokers, advising TNCs and NGOs. Returning to Germany in 2004, his work as an independent CSR-consultant led to establishing and heading the CSR-department of the German subsidiary of an international mobile provider.
As a pro bono activity, Torsten managed communications and sponsorship for the first Israeli/Palestinian peace expedition, an "extreme" and adventurous journey of peace (mostly) to Antarctica in 2003 and 2004. Torsten developed a fundraising campaign, successfully offering corporations to engage as part of their CSR-activities. He remains a trustee of this NGO, Breaking the Ice.
Torsten has read literature and philosophy at Goethe University, Frankfurt, and holds an MA on Coexistence and Conflict from Brandeis University. He can be reached at torsten.sewing (at) comm-unity.de
